Pretty In Pink

Isn't my darling niece a DOLL?! I created this layout for a 12 x 12 black shadow box that will be displayed in my scraproom.
I used 5 inch sheer ribbon, folded it in half and stiched it to create the pendants. Then added pink satin ribbon to one.
The special princess note and patterned paper is from Teresa Collins' new line "Chic Bebe Girl." The lettering is from Storybook cricut cartridge and the flowers are made by me. The black rhinestones are from Queen & Co. and the rhinestones in the flowers are from Stampin Up.
Thanks for visiting and have a great day! =)

New Home

A young couple very close to us has purchased their first home, so after going through my Cricut cartridges, this is what I came up with. The birdhouse is from "Stretch Your Imagination" and the birds are from "Home Decor."

Congratulations stamp is from "My Pink Stamper," patterned paper (red) is from "DCWV" (green) is from Stampin Up and I also used hemp twine to fill the center of the birdhouse.

Happy 19th Birthday!

Our Valentine "baby" of the family (my niece) turned 19 yesterday. She is enjoying her first year of college life, but is technically a Sophomore (due to the extra courses she took her Senior year in High School) AND she made the Dean's List last semester. We are so proud of her and happy we could celebrate this SPECIAL day with her!!

Used the "Spring Card Kit" that I purchased from Barb (aka Snowmanlover). She is a fabulous Stampin Up demonstrator and a wonderful person. I am CRAZY over the card kits she puts together! Makes it super easy for me to whip out a card when I need to.

Thanks for stopping by and have a terrific week! =)

Doggie Snow Day

We woke up this morning to a beautiful blanket of snow and our 4-legged furry kids just loved it! The area must have had between 8 to 10 inches, which is unusual for us here in Texas. Thank you to the newspaper carriers who bundled our newspaper into a bright orange bag which made it much easier to find in the snow covered yard...lol.
This is our boy Kasper

And this is our girl Bailey
What a cute face!
Hope everyone has a safe and fun filled weekend!! =)

Our Snow Day In Texas

I just love it when we get snow in our part of the state! I know...it's not as much as other parts of the U.S. are getting, but we sure welcome it every chance we get.

And it is still coming down...
Stay warm everyone!! =)

Sweetheart Box Tutorial ~ Part 1 ~

For those of us who do not have a Gypsy or DS, this is a quick and easy way to make a cute little box. To start off you will need two pieces of solid cardstock, double-sided sticky tape and a way to score the paper. The rest you can embellish any way you prefer.

Top piece is 4 7/8 x 4 7/8

Bottom piece is 8 1/2 x 3 1/4

Sweetheart Box Tutorial ~ Part 2 ~

The first piece of cardstock will be cut at 4 7/8 x 4 7/8
Score all 4 sides at 15/16
Score each corner square diagonally (from the corner score lines to the actual corner of the cardstock)
The second piece of cardstock will be cut at 8 1/2 x 3 1/4
Score lenghwise at 1/2, 3 1/2, 4 1/2 and 7 1/2
It will look like the above photo
Take your first piece of cardstock and fold the two sides inward. Now flip over and adhere two strips of double-sided tape to the top and bottom. Position the longer cardstock with the 1/2 inch score line to the top (this will be the flap) and adhere the first piece to it, as shown. The score lines MUST line up on these two pieces for the box to function properly. Open the two sides and and adhere a tiny strip of double-sided tape to the 4 INSIDE (triangle shaped) corners.

Sweetheart Box Tutorial ~ Part 3 ~

The box is formed, you can leave as is for a "collapsible" box or add 4 more strips of adhesive to make it "NON collapsible."
Take the 1/2 circle (cut with my cricut - George cart), your paper piercer and find the center of the box front. Pick out a brad and attach.
This is how you will fasten the lid of the box.
Now you can decorate the top of your box
And don't forget to fill the box for your sweetheart!
Have fun creating and thanks for stopping by. =)

Valentine Sweetheart Boxes

These are great little boxes to give your sweetheart for Valentine's Day. They are super easy to make and tons of fun to decorate.
I used brown cardstock for this box along with patterned paper from SU
I made the flower using a scalloped punch and added a rhinestone to the center
The box ends up being approximately 3 1/4 x 3 inches and stands a little over an inch tall. The lid is fastened using a circle and brad. Easy to open and close!
Thanks for dropping by! :)

Love You Much...

Speaking of love...I just LOVE the card kit my friend Barb (aka Snowmanlover) put together for her Stampin Up customers. For those of us who are "card challenged" this is definitely a terrific purchase! I used the cardstock and ribbon, along with the actual base for the card that was included in my kit. Did I mention the envelopes are also included...what an AWESOME kit! I used the "love you much" stamp set for this card and colored it in with the SU markers. The felt flower and leaf are also from Stampin Up.
Thanks for stopping by! :)
