Family Tradition

One of our family traditions is to make Tamales during the Christmas holidays. We set aside a day that is available for everyone and we all gather at "Grandma" & "Grandpa's" house to do the work. It's an all day process and a lot of work, but we have fun doing it! As "Grandma" says..."If you don't help make 'em, you can't help to eat 'em!!"

We always end up with several dozen for each family to take home and of course there is always extra to share with our neighbors and friends.

This photo was taken when my oldest niece & nephew were little. They are "helping" Grandpa make tamales.
